Launched under HDFC Bank’s Parivartan umbrella, the ECSS programme responds directly to educational disruptions caused by financial instability or crisis. Whether a student is enrolled in Class 1 or pursuing an MBA, ECSS ensures that the cost of education doesn’t become an insurmountable barrier.

Key Features:

  • Covers students from Class 1 to 12, plus those in diploma, ITI, polytechnic, undergraduate (both general & professional) and postgraduate (general & professional) programmes.
  • Special preference for students impacted by family or personal crises in the recent three years—such as income loss, medical emergencies, or other hardships—who are at risk of discontinuing education.

Scholarship Amounts by Academic Level

  • School Students (Class 1–6): ₹15,000 per year
  • Students (Class 7–12, diploma, ITI, polytechnic): ₹18,000 per year
  • Undergraduate (General): ₹30,000 per year
  • Undergraduate (Professional): ₹50,000 per year
  • Postgraduate (General): ₹35,000 per year
  • Postgraduate (Professional): ₹75,000 per year

Eligibility Criteria

ECSS is open to Indian nationals who meet all of the following:

  1. Academic Requirement: Minimum 55% in the previous qualifying exam (e.g., board exam or previous year coursework).
  2. Income Bracket: Annual family income up to ₹2.5 lakh.
  3. Crisis Impact: Preference is granted to those who have encountered personal or family crises in the past three years that put their education at risk.

Application Process

  • Applications are submitted via the Buddy4Study platform, accessible through the ECSS website.
  • Applicants must:
    • Register or log in with an email or mobile account.
    • Fill in details of their personal, academic, financial, and crisis-related background.
    • Upload supporting documents, including marksheets, ID, proof of income, bank account, and crisis evidence (if applicable).
  • After uploading all materials, applicants can preview and submit their form in the last step.

Important Deadlines

The ECSS Programme follows a three-phase deadline structure:

  • First Cycle: 4 September 2025
  • Second Cycle: 30 October 2025
