Tally Assistant Vacancy 2025 – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger, is seeking qualified applicants for the role of Tally Assistant (Job Requisition ID: JR115325).

The position is based in Garoua, Cameroon and will contribute directly to the smooth running of WFP’s warehouse operations, ensuring that vital food commodities are received, managed, and dispatched accurately to the people who need them most.

Key Responsibilities

As the Tally Assistant, you will support warehouse operations by ensuring all food commodities are carefully tracked, recorded and managed. Your primary duties will include:

  1. Commodity Receipt & Dispatch
    Keep accurate tallies of all commodities received or dispatched (including internal transformations such as milling) and promptly report any discrepancy to supervisors.
  2. Inventory & Stock Management
    Support orderly stacking, storage, reconstitution, loading and unloading; assist with periodic physical stock checks in line with internal control guidelines.
  3. Reporting & Documentation
    Prepare timely and accurate tally sheets and reports to ensure transparency and accountability of all stock movements.
  4. Warehouse Hygiene & Supervision
    Oversee post-loading and unloading clean-ups to maintain warehouse hygiene standards and safety.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of secondary school education.
  • Language: Fluency (Level C) in the UN working language at duty station and local language.
  • Skills:
    • Accuracy, integrity and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently under pressure
    • Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
