Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of Field Office and technical guidance from the Programme Policy (M&E) and VAM Officers at the Country Office, the Programme Assistant (RAM) will play a central role in strengthening WFP’s research, assessment, and monitoring efforts. The duties include:
- Coordinating M&E and VAM data collection and analysis.
- Ensuring quality control of datasets and statistical reports.
- Supporting data management through COMET administration.
- Producing comprehensive data streams for country briefs and donor requests.
- Reconciling data discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation of donor proposals and progress reports.
- Maintaining and updating databases with food security and nutrition indicators.
- Supporting monitoring processes, including Third-Party Monitoring (TPM).
- Conducting statistical controls, weighting, and developing analysis plans.
- Performing descriptive and multivariate data analysis.
- Collaborating with VAM/M&E officers to produce reports and newsletters on food security trends.
- Preparing periodic reports on output-level indicators.
- Supporting key RAM assessments, including EFSA, PDM, CH, and targeting exercises.
- Facilitating digital data collection via mobile tools.
- Training partners, government, and field staff in database management and analysis best practices.
- Gathering field data to contextualize food security analysis.
- Liaising with internal units (logistics, donors, communications, etc.) for data alignment.
- Monitoring food security and markets through field missions and data networks.
- Supporting the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism when needed.
- Collecting monthly market price data for Cameroon’s Data Bridge.
- Performing other related duties to ensure effective field office operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, economics, management, monitoring and evaluation, social sciences, development studies, or related fields. Additional training in food security, nutrition, finance, or social services is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in monitoring, statistical analysis, econometrics, or related functions.
- Skills: Strong analytical and data management skills, proficiency in statistical methods, and ability to manage multiple datasets with accuracy.
- Language: Fluency in English and the duty station’s language (French) is required.
