A New Generation of Peace Leadership
The serene campuses of Yale may appear distant from conflict zones, yet the global challenges of the 21st century demand precisely the kind of thoughtful leadership fostered by the Peace Fellowship. Tackling issues such as political polarization, disinformation, climate-induced tensions, and fragmented social systems, this program equips peacebuilders with the strategic, reflective, and collaborative capacity needed to navigate contemporary conflict dynamics.
Each year, 16 outstanding fellows are selected—drawn from diverse professional backgrounds including civil society, diplomacy, religion, politics, and social enterprise. They are chosen for their demonstrated impact and leadership potential in advancing peace.

Fellowship Structure & Experience
The Yale Peace Fellowship blends virtual and in-person engagement to build deep insight and relationships over a sustained period:
- Virtual Learning Seminars: Held bi-weekly from January through May 2026, these sessions foster dialogue and peer learning among fellows and international experts.
- International Study Trip (UAE): From February 1–5, 2026, fellows travel to the United Arab Emirates to engage with peacebuilders at the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony and interfaith initiatives—an opportunity to experience peacebuilding in practice.
- On-Campus Seminar (Yale, New Haven): A week-long face-to-face gathering from April 13–17, 2026, held at Yale, where fellows participate in leadership workshops, peer exchange, and strategic reflection in a rich academic environment.
The design of the program provides both space to reflect and tools to act, blending training in negotiation, leadership, and peace strategy with deep engagement in peer networks.
